CNY is about all the food and to start off with, there is Kuih momo all the way from Brunei which uncle specially ordered plenty of boxes of it for us!! They now have plenty of fillings with it -cornflakes, oreos, peanuts (it used to be kosong - made using milk powder). My favorite!!
CNY is about stuffing yourself full for every meal... and the family steamboat at home is extremely popular in Singapore. We had 3 sessions of it in 2 days alone! I am now officially sick of steamboat.
and some BBQ -ing and grilling too...
CNY also calls for the gotong-royong spirit
however, it is not all about food. It is also about family reunions and of course playing with the little ones and we can all do nothing but stare at them all day long.
and CNY is never complete without a customary lion dance performance.
